NOS cases made in the 70s, vintage Swiss movements and handmade brass dials, the Heritage 72  is all about classic watchmaking.

  • THE STORY

I was visiting my case factory a while ago hoping to score some free gaskets and I saw this dusted box sitting in the corner of the warehouse that has export markings on it. The factory owner said they made these watchcases for a French brand (now closed) back in the 70s but never sold them due to financial reasons. So.... some begging and bargaining later, they are in my possession.

Since these are cases made some 50 years ago, of course I have to pair them with vintage movements as well, it wasn't easy finding vintage movements in large quantities, luckily Taiwan was the OEM hub for lots of watch brands in the early days and I was able to track down an inventory of Swiss A. Schild movements that was intended to use on Ogival watches, they come in both manual and automatic versions, and you can choose which to fit in the watch.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO

The cases and acrylic crystals were made more than 50 years ago, eventhough they are new old stock items, it is still inevitable to have some light to small blemishes. I opt not to refurbish/repolish them and rather keep them the way it is because I want the traces on time to be seen on the watch.
